Meet Ms. Mariah
Teacher
Teaching for me encompasses discovery, imagination, and our connectedness to the world around us. My deep love of teaching really began when I worked in an alternative school called Community Learning Center (CLC) in Laguna Beach from 2009-2013. Many of the program’s ITI (Integrated Thematic Instruction) really resonated with me and focused around holistic, individualized learning. I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a BA in Liberal Arts and a multiple subject teaching credential K-6. My teaching experience spans from 3rd through 6th grade in my earlier years. I have spent the last 6 years as a Reading Specialist for Kindergarten/2nd grade at Top of the World Elementary School. While in my position, I was able to build a reading program that emphasized art, games, and sensory play.
I love to laugh and travel, and my family are an interictal part of both pastimes. As a refugee born in Kabul, Afghanistan, I feel so grateful for my freedom and opportunity to raise my family on a purposeful path. Together, we shall spark curious minds and a lifelong love of learning.
