Meet Ms. Kelly

Kelly Thomas

Cooking Teacher

I’m so grateful to share my love of healthy, seasonal food with the children at Head, Heart + Hands. Cooking together brings me such joy—whether we're harvesting herbs from the garden, making sourdough cinnamon rolls, or tasting something new for the very first time.

These moments are a beautiful reminder that food is so much more than fuel; it’s a way to nurture connection, inspire creativity, and practice care.

At a young age, I committed myself to a life of wellness. I’ve studied nutrition in the U.S. and South Africa, and spent time counseling clients and designing individualized diets at a food intolerance and allergy lab. My passion for whole, healing food continues to grow—and now, as a mom of three, I get to share that passion with the next generation.

My hope is to inspire your children to be confident and curious in the kitchen. I want them to know where their food comes from, to explore flavors and textures with joy, and to understand that food made with care and whole ingredients can be delicious and deeply nourishing.

I have been teaching cooking for the past 3 years at HHH and am thrilled to be contributing to a program that honors childhood, nurtures creativity, and feeds both body and spirit.

“Guiding children in the kitchen is more than teaching recipes. It's planting seeds of wonder, self-reliance, and reverence for the Earth's bounty.”
