Grade 2 Teacher
I’m so excited to be joining the Head, Heart, and Hands community. Before coming here, I spent four years as a second-grade teacher in a traditional public school. While I loved working with my students, I always dreamed of working in a setting that values creativity, imagination, and outdoor learning as much as academics. As soon as I discovered Head, Heart, and Hands, I immediately fell in love with its philosophy and knew it was where I belonged.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from San Francisco State University and completed my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at San Diego State University.
My family is from Austria, and my first language was German. Waldorf education was discovered by Austrian philosopher, Rudolf Steiner. As Rudolf Steiner once said, “Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives. The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility—these three forces are the very nerve of education.” I am committed to embracing this philosophy and creating a nurturing environment where each child can thrive.
Outside of school, I’m happiest outdoors—spending time with my two dogs, walking by the beach, snowboarding, or practicing yoga and Pilates. I also love cooking wholesome, homemade meals and sharing them with friends and family.
I look forward to guiding students in a space filled with warmth, curiosity, and a deep connection to the natural world.
