Kindergarten Assistant

I grew up in a small Canadian town in a time and place where kids were very much still roaming free. I have fond memories of building snow forts, sledding, exploring in the rain, and adventuring with my family on camping trips to Yellowstone, Crater Lake, the Grand Canyon, California coastlines and more. 

I always knew I wanted an “outside of the box” education for my children and after I had my first child I was incredibly lucky to find a magical preschool a few blocks from our house called “Ms. Linnie’s Sunflower Preschool”. Our path continued with many like-minded families from Sunflower Preschool, to Journey School, and now to Head Heart & Hands. I am so excited to now have the full circle opportunity of assisting Ms. Linnie with Orange Blossom Kindergarten. I have become very passionate about alternative ways of learning and schooling, inspired by my own children and books like “Free to Learn”.

Spending time outside and observing nature with children is such a gift . I am excited to bring my background in the arts to the Nature Explorations class to offer nature-inspired art projects as well infusing my love of storytelling and creative writing. I am fully trained in NOHLS Wilderness First Aid.

My hobbies are sewing, baking, surface pattern design, camping and exploring with my husband and 2 daughters.
